The phrase personal property appraisal is still very confusing to most people and immediately real estate comes to mind. It is actually quite different.
Personal property is anything you own that can be moved. Included may be: glassware, furniture, pottery, lawn items, jewelry, automobiles, farm equipment, etc.
You would get a personal property appraisal for insurance purposes if your agency required it, or you might also have one completed on all or a portion of your personal possessions for estate tax, damage claims, donation, sale, dissolution of marriage or equitable distribution amongst heirs, investments or just out of personal curiosity.
